Airport/Hotel Transportation

The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) is approximately 12 miles from the Minneapolis Hilton Hotel (which is located at 1001 Marquette Avenue S., Mpls, MN 55403).

Typical Minimum Charges for transportation from MSP to downtown Minneapolis: Light Rail Transit (LRT):  $2.25 during rush hours (M-F, 6-9am, 3-6:30pm), $1.75 non-rush hours; Super Shuttle:  $17.00; Taxi: $25.00

Directions for travel by car:
Take Highway 5 East to 62W to 35W North and follow “Downtown Exits.” Exit at 11th Street and stay in the right-hand lane. The Hilton is located on the corner of 11th Street and Marquette Avenue. Trip takes approximately 20 minutes.

Directions for LRT travel from MSP:
Light Rail Transit (LRT) trains stop at both Terminal 1 (Lindbergh Terminal) and Terminal 2 (Humphrey Terminal).  From the airport, trains can take you to downtown Minneapolis in about 25 minutes. Tickets are sold at vending kiosks at the rail stations.  No ticket is needed to travel between airport terminal stations. Take the train to the Nicollet Mall Station (5th Street & Nicollet). You then have three options:

1. You can walk outside.  Minnesota in March? Maybe not the best option.
2. You can take the Free Nicollet Mall Bus to the 11th Street stop (11th Street & Nicollet). Walk one block east to 11th and Marquette Avenue. Hotel located on corner of 11th Street and Marquette Avenue.
3. You can walk through the skyway. (Skyway PDF mapMinneapolis Skyway App (free on itunes), Interactive Skyway map)

Airport LRT Station Locations
The Terminal 1 (Lindbergh Terminal) light rail station is located below the Transit Center, between the Blue and Red Parking ramps. From the Tram Level (one level below bag claim), take the tram to the Transit Center. When you exit the tram, follow the signs to the light rail station, located 70 feet underground.

The Terminal 2 (Humphrey Terminal) light rail station is located on the north side of the MSP Value Parking ramp. From the terminal, take the skyway from Level 2 across to the parking facility. Follow the overhead signs through the covered parking facility. Take the escalators or elevators down one level to the station platform.

The light rail stations are fully accessible.

Frequency
Trains run every 7 or 8 minutes during peak hours and typically every 10 to 15 minutes at other times of the day. While trains run 24 hours a day between terminals, times between trains can be anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes between the hours of 10:30 pm and 5 am. Be sure to check the light rail schedule if you plan to utilize this service during these hours.
