Donations, donations, donations – what is a Silent Auction without them? Egads, don’t ask! Calling all generous souls to provide prizes (contributions, booty, offerings, items, swag) for the Shhh… Silent Auction! Chapters, start your engines! Members, outshine your peers! This is a blatant call to your competitive side. Hand crafted, store bought, garage sale find, re-gifted, uncategorized donations are all welcome. We will post a jpeg you send along with the donation form to the Silent Auction Items page. VRAers, this process may be new to you but at last you have the chance to preview your fabulous donations ahead of the conference for all to see and covet! And now we are thrilled to draw your attention to two outstanding “grand prize” style donations from Archivision, Inc. – first, the Digital Library Base Collection, valued at $15,000, consisting of 16,000 images and second, one year’s access to their new subscription product accessing Archivision’s entire digital research library of 53,000 images and videos valued at $3,240. Because of the nature of these prizes, the opening bids will be substantial: $1000 for the Base Collection (with bids increasing at a minimum of $100) and for the subscription access $250 (increasing by a $25 minimum). They are being specially publicized now to allow interested bidders to arrange for their institutions to carry out the bidding via a P.O. process. The winners will complete their transaction with Archivision, Inc., and the Silent Auction will receive the proceeds in full after the fact.
Additionally, Bridgeman Education is offering a 9 month subscription valued at $500-$4000, with an opening bid of $150, increasing by a minimum of $25. Such largesse!
